12-13 RNLB "Keep Fit Association"

August 27th

80ft Trawler "Sarah Thinnesen" 12 miles East of Filey with gearbox failure,  4 persons onboard. Due to the weather conditions and the size of the vessel it was decided to tow the boat to Bridlington for repair,  due to the vessels size and state of the tide in the harbour, the "Sarah Thinnesen" had to be left on anchor in the bay until the following morning. When the tide was right, the boat was towed into the harbour by two boats from Bridlington and moored alongside.

August 1st 

Dive boat "Undine" with engine problems 4 miles north East of Filey,  6 persons onboard.  Vessel located and towed to Filey

July 12th

Called to yawl "Shuna" 5 miles East of Filey, on passage from Holland to Scarborough, Vessel had engine problems and the crew of two were suffering from fatigue, due to the conditions they had endured on their passage. A towline was made fast to the vessel and it was towed to Scarborough.

June 15th

Search for missing "Tornado" aircraft, 35 Miles East of Filey. The aircraft had gone missing on a training exercise. The area was searched along with Bridlington Lifeboat, an oil rig supply boat "Red Martin", 2 search and rescue helicopters and a Nimrod aircraft from Kinloss. The search was carried out for most of the time in poor visibility at times down to 30 metres. A crash site was identified and aircraft wreckage and human body parts were recovered. The search carried on until the light failed and the lifeboat returned to station.

May 12th

10m Fishing vessel "Magic" 5 miles East of Filey, taking in water 3 persons onboard. Vessel located and 1 crewman and salvage pump put aboard casualty. Vessel was pumped out and escorted to Scarborough. It was found a split in the deck was the cause of the problems.

February 11th

9m Fishing coble "Eglantine" 1 mile North of Filey with gearbox failure due to fouled propeller, 2 persons onboard.  Vessel located and towed to shore where a crewman was put aboard the casualty to assist the boat to land on the beach.

January 14th

10m Fishing vessel "Endeavour", 4 Miles East of Filey with engine failure, 3 persons onboard. Vessel located and towed 14 miles to Bridlington
