Saturday 3rd November

Report of capsized sailing dinghy 1 mile off Royal Parade, located dinghy and assisted 1 person back aboard and escorted dinghy back to beach at Filey

Launched 11:30 Returned to station 12:00

Tuesday 23rd October

Reports of 2 persons cut off by tide on Filey Brigg, Ilb crew located 2 persons who were cut off by tide, but were fishing and happy to stay where they were until the tide went out the Ilb returned to station. A false alarm with good intent.

Thursday 13th September

2 persons in inflatable off Royal Parade, when ILB arrived on scene they had made their way back to beach under their own power but they were cold and wet and an ambulance was called to check them over.

Monday 10th September

2 persons cut off by tide on Filey Brigg, picked up both persons and transported them to Coble Landing.

Launched 14:44 Returned to station 15:00

Sunday 9th September

2 persons in water North of Filey Brigg, 1 person made their way on to the rocks the other pulled from the water by Ilb crew entering water to assist, transported to Coble Landing then on to Hospital by Rescue Helicopter 128. as you will see from the pictures it was not ideal conditions for launching a dinghy at the back of the Brigg, Images from service


Saturday 1st September

Person reported in difficulty off Hunmanby Gap, When Ilb arrived on scene person had been recovered to beach and was safe and well.  Ilb returned to station

Wednesday 29th August

Diverted while on exercise to investigate 3 persons in a rowing boat seen waving off Blue Dolphin, Ilb arrived and found no boat a search was carried out as far North as Knipe Point and nothing was found. A rowing boat was located to the south of Scarborough Harbour by the watchman at the port control and did not appear to be in difficulty.  Ilb returned to station a false alarm with good intent.

Sunday 26th August

Persons cut off by tide at Agony Point on Filey Brigg, persons climbed up cliff to top as Ilb stood by at bottom. Ilb returned to station


Friday 17th August

Two persons stranded on cliff at Agony Point on Filey Brigg, persons assisted to top by Filey Coastguard Cliff team. Ilb stood by at cliff base.

Thursday 16th August

One adult and two children cut off by the tide at Agony Point on Filey Brigg, crew picked up 3 persons and transported them to safety at Filey Coble Landing.

Wednesday 1st August

While on exercise Ilb crew  discovered 2 children cut off by the tide and lost at the bottom of the cliff near Primrose Valley , crew picked up the children and handed them over to the Filey Coastguard Team at Primrose Valley,  who reunited them with their family at Primrose Valley Caravan Park.


Wednesday 18th July

Ilb taken up into the town to evacuate people trapped by flooding in their houses, 8 persons assisted at the swimming pool, 1 person and fours dogs from Cawthorne crescent and 8 persons and 3 dogs from the Seadale estate. Also checked on people who were staying in their homes and informed them of what was going on and how to summon assistance if the condition deteriorated further.          Flood images

Saturday 7th July

5m Angling Boat "Chauncey" with engine failure 1 mile East of Filey, vessel towed back to Filey.  2 persons on board

Wednesday 3rd July

Person stranded at bottom of cliff in Chimney Hole area, picked up person and transported them to the beach at Filey

Launched 19:30 Returned to station 20:15

Saturday 16th June

Launched to standby 3 salmon boats recovering nets in heavy swell and shallow water in the bay.

Launched 08:30  Returned to station 11:30

Wednesday 13th June

Person stranded, at bottom of Cliff, between Chimney Hole and Filey. Area searched by Alb, IIb, Police helicopter and Filey Coastguard team, man was located by Police helicopter and picked up by Ilb then transferred to Alb for passage back to beach at Filey.

Thursday 24th May

Launch to assist Filey Coastguard team to locate a woman in the Blue Dolphin Area, Area searched from Cayton Bay back towards Filey nothing found, ILB returned to station.

Saturday 28th April

Reports of a person in the water, off Green Rock north of Filey Brigg.  When ILB arrived on scene the person had got out onto the rocks, the ILB stood by whilst the coastguards ashore assessed the man and assisted him back to the cliff top.  ILB then returned to station.

Sunday 11th March

6m Dive boat "Deep Harmony M" with engine problems 100m from beach at Filey,  vessel towed back to beach.


 

Friday 2nd March

Launch to assist police at Chimney Hole, North of Filey

Launched 13:05 Returned to station 14:30

Sunday 4th February

3 persons in difficulties in the Chimney Hole area north of Filey, located persons and transported them to Filey Coastguard team who relocated them to the top of the cliff.
